Project carried out in 3 contiguous lots in the district of Garden City.

On the central lot, a house designed in the 1970s by Roberto Aflalo, a well-known Brazilian architect. On a side lot, a grove. On the other side lot, a space for a new building.

To integrate the different parts, we started from the structural modulation of the Aflalo house and worked on alignments and structural balances that could create a dialogue between the different periods. The slope of the lots allowed the entrance to be on a roof garden in the annex.

The pilotis of the original house is where the new space becomes integrated: on one side, the untouched grove; on the other side, the extended floor including the original house and the annex.

Architecture is present within the grove with a chalice-shaped concrete structure with a bonfire at the top that can only be accessed from the Aflalo house through a 10-meter concrete walkway.
